The vivo Y17s entry-level smartphone which was launched in Singapore last month has finally arrived in Malaysia. Much like its counterpart, the device is offered with the same specifications and colour options. The latter of which being Forest Green and Glitter Purple.

To recap, the new vivo Y17s offers a 6.56-inch LCD display with HD+ (1612 x 720 px) resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 840-nits peak brightness. It is rated at IP54 in terms of dust and water resistance, and also comes with Android 13 via Funtouch OS 13, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, loudspeaker, a dual nano SIM + microSD slot, as well as a USB-C port. For wireless connectivity, the phone features dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0, but lacks NFC support.

Running things in the background is a 4G-capable MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. According to vivo, you can further expand the former up to an additional 6GB via virtual memory, and up to 1TB for the latter via the microSD. Meanwhile, powering the new entry-level smartphone is a 5,000mAh battery, which comes with a modest fast charging rate of only 15W.

For photography and video capture, on the back of the phone is a dual camera setup which consists of a 50MP primary and a 2MP depth sensor. Meanwhile, found in front on its display is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.
