Local gaming outfit Illegear has recently launched Obsidian, its first ever gaming desk. As you’d expect, it offers the typical features that you’ll find in such products, including adjustable height, RGB lighting and so on. However, unlike most that are currently in the market, the company prides its own desk as a more budget-friendly option for consumers.
The new Illegear Obsidian gaming desk is offered in two sizes: Small and Large. The former comes with a tabletop size of 1120 x 600 x 16mm, while the latter is at 1360 x 600 x 16mm. Regardless of variants, both offer an adjustable height of 710 to 810mm, have a weight of 100kg, and consist of steel, plastic, melamine and particle board materials. And as implied by its name, the product is available in a single colourway: black.
Apart from the adjustable height, the Obsidian also features a built-in under-desk headphone hook on the right-hand side, and a cup holder on the left. These are fixed, but Illegear assures that they have been thoughtfully designed, making everything you need within easy reach. In case you’re wondering, there are no storage compartments or drawers, which is typical for most gaming desks.
Last but not least, Illegear’s first gaming desk offers a dynamic RGB lighting system that’s situated under its rear end. The company says users can customise its effects and colours through the two-button interface located on the right-hand side of the desk, just beside the headphone hook. As it doesn’t come with motorised height adjustment, the lighting system is the only electronic component available on the product.
The new Illegear Obsidian is available now via the brand’s official website. It is priced at RM599 for the Small variant, while opting for the larger model will cost you RM699. Not a bad price range, especially if you’re looking to get your first gaming desk.
