Xiaomi teased the local launch of the Redmi Buds 4 Active just a couple of days ago and now the earbuds are officially available in Malaysia. These are the latest in the Buds 4 lineup and the cheapest so far, sacrificing active noise cancellation for the lower price tag.
The Redmi Buds 4 Active are equipped with 12mm dynamic drivers along with stems on each earbud for touch control. Even though this offering is lacking in ANC, it still features noise cancellation for calls, making your voice sound clearer for the person on the other end. For protection, the earbuds themselves are rated at IPX4 for water resistance, a step down from the IP54 rating against dust and water of the standard and Pro models.
For the connection, it is packed with Bluetooth 5.3 but only supports the SBC codec. It also offers Google Fast Pair and a low latency mode for gaming. Each earbud is powered by a 34mAh battery while the capacity for the case itself is 440mAh. This translates to a slightly reduced battery life with five hours on a single charge and a total of 28 hours of usage with the charging case.
The Redmi Buds 4 Active are available on Xiaomi’s Lazada and Shopee stores for RM119. However, early birds who purchase the earbuds between 8 to 15 August 2023 will be able to get them at a discounted price of just RM79.
