Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has announced that the Casual Contact risk status is no longer being shown in MySejahtera. From today onwards, users will only receive a notification through the app if they have been identified as Casual Contacts.
A Casual Contact risk status usually happens when one has been exposed to a COVID-19 case at a particular place and time based on their MySejahtera check-in information. Once triggered, the blue Low Risk No Symptom label in various sections within MySejahtera will turn into a yellow Casual Contact label.
With the implementation of the new policy, the status change is not going to happen anymore. Replacing it is a set of notifications that also informs users that they are placed under restrictions if they received the Casual Contact notifications.
Additionally, these notifications also act as reminders that one should do a test if they experience any of the COVID-19 symptoms. On a related note, today also marked the implementation of another new policy whereby those who have been identified as close contacts are no longer required to isolate themselves if they are aged 18 years old and above as well as asymptomatic and have taken their booster shots.
