Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Road Transport Department (JPJ) are currently offering massive discounts of up to 80% on outstanding summons in conjunction with the 100-Day Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia expo in KL Convention Centre. A massive crowd had turned up at the venue for the past two days to take up the discount offer which had ultimately led to concerns of the public being exposed to COVID-19.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has since announced that the summon discount counters at KL Convention Centre to be closed with immediate effect. Not only that, he has also reprimanded the event organiser –  which happened to be the Shared Prosperity Delivery Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department – for its failure to uphold SOPs concerning the public.

Khairy also said that official government events such as the expo should have become a benchmark for others including the public to follow. A compound of RM1,000 has been issued under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act to the organiser as well.

Earlier today, the President of the Malaysian Medical Association, Dr Koh Kar Chai slammed the 100-Day Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia expo by asking if the government’s KPI for the next 100 days is to push up the number of COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, you can still take advantage of PDRM’s discount offer at the nearest district and state contingent police headquarters until this Sunday. For JPJ summons, you can head on to the nearest JPJ and UTC branches instead.

Alternatively, you can also utilise MyBayar Saman and MySikap online platforms but be prepared to face some difficulties as both platforms were overwhelmed by a huge amount of traffic yesterday.
