The government has agreed to reclassify Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya as Phase 2 areas under the National Recover Plan (PPN) starting from 10 September onwards, according to Prime Minister Ismail Sabri. Under the new stage, inter-district movements are no longer restricted to those who have been fully vaccinated.

As all three states are deemed as one single area, this means the people within Klang Valley are free to move around. In fact, the announcement by PM Ismail Sabri today specifically mentioned that there will be no roadblocks anymore.

At the same time, indoor sports have received the green light from the government too. Naturally, indoor sports facilities and venues will be allowed to be operational once again although they can only admit fully vaccinated customers.

However, indoor gymnasiums are still off-limits for the time being. That being said, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin earlier today has noted that the Ministry of Health is urgently looking into the matter and is already working with the National Security Council (MKN) to develop ventilation guidelines for indoor fitness centres which are expected to be completed very soon.

Meanwhile, PM Ismail Sabri has also noted that florists and nurseries located within Phase 1 states are allowed to be opened again, alongside outdoor equipment shops, and showhouses. Additional SOP relaxations will be provided to barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salon operators in Phase 2 and Phase 3 states.

For further details, do keep a look out for the related SOP document over at MKN’s website. Alternatively, you can also check out PPN’s portal right here which has recently been updated with easy-to-understand visuals although you may have to wait until 10 September for today’s announcement to be reflected on the website.
