Vivo has unveiled the Y12A, its latest entry level smartphone for the Malaysian market. It will be available for sale via the brand‘s official physical stores and E-store, as well as on Lazada and Shopee from 26 June 2021 onwards.

The new Vivo Y12A features a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ support and a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. Under its hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Keeping the device powered is a large 5,000mAh battery which also comes with 5V/1A reverse charging feature, therefore enabling it to also charge other devices if required.

Despite looking like a triple camera setup at first glance, the Vivo Y21A actually only features two cameras on its back – with the last circle merely being a logo which cunningly looks like a third camera. The dual camera array consists of a 13MP primary sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor for delivering bokeh-styled shots. Found within the waterdrop notch on the phone’s display is an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

Besides that, the new entry-level handset also includes an AI-enhanced power-saving feature for its battery, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also features Vivo’s Multi-Turbo 3.0 feature that optimises the onboard processor’s performance to reduce stuttering and lag when running certain applications such as mobile games.

The Vivo Y12A will be available in two colour options: Phantom Black and Mint Green. As mentioned earlier, it will be available for purchase starting tomorrow on 26 June and is priced at RM529.
