Corsair MP600 Pro PCIe 4.0 SSD Makes An Appearance; Has Up to 7GB Per Second Transfer Speeds

NVMe PCIe 4.0 is without a doubt one of the fastest SSD medium that is both easily and commercially available on the consumer market, and Corsair was one of the first brands to enter that market with its MP600. Recently, details of an MP600 Pro made its way online, along with even faster transfer speeds.

Evidence of the MP600 Pro was spotted on the Amazon German page by Twitter user 188号, otherwise known by their official tag, @momomo_us. The page itself has been taken down since then, but not before everyone’s favourite leakster managed to pull some details off from it.

> A PCIe Gen4 x4 controller delivers up to 7,000MB / sec sequential read and 6,850MB / sec sequential write speeds for read, write and response times

From the looks of it, there’s unsurprisingly little or virtually no change to its aesthetics; it’s still using the M.2 form factor, plus the same aluminium head spreader that came with the original MP600. What is important to note is that, as a bump up, the MP600 Pro has increased sequential read and write speeds of 7000MB/s and 6850MB/s, respectively. For context, the original MP600 has respective sequential read and write speeds of 4950MB/s and 4250MB/s, which is still leaps and bounds faster than anything PCIe 3.0 SSDs are able to achieve.

In relation to the increased speeds, there’s a high possibility that MP600 Pro may be using Phison’s new E18 Controller, although that hasn’t actually been confirmed. As for storage capacities, the listing indicates that we could be looking at both 1TB and 2TB capacities.

At the time of writing, no official price tag has been announced for the Corsair MP600 Pro. However, considering how much the 2TB non-Pro version of the SSD is going for, it wouldn’t surprise us if the product’s parent company were to sell the Pro version of the same capacity at a slightly higher price.
