The Epic Games Store has been giving away free games everyday for nearly two weeks now. And Solitairica is the free game of the day.
Solitairica sounds like the simple game you get from basically every copy of Microsoft Windows. But it is a little more than its name suggests. More specifically, it is a dungeon crawler rogue-like that’s built around Spider Solitaire.
Adding to the rogue-like element of the game is the existence of a class system. And you unlock more classes and perks with more runs through the game. Of course, there are also enemies to face, with battles making use of a turn-based combat system. Each is semi-randomised, making encounters different, and as a result, less predictable.
There’s also a story of sorts to keep players engaged. You play as the champion of Myriodd, a land that was invaded by one Emperor Stuck. He has stolen all the hearts of the land, and you’ll have to defeat him to return the hearts.
It’s an interesting twist to an old game, to be sure. So if you enjoy the game on Windows but want a new twist to it, grab Solitairica from the Epic Games Store for free by midnight.
