Malaysia has had a long history with esports, with many internationally well-known athletes. And with Jalur 14, there is finally a documentary series that tells their stories. That, and the rest of the Malaysian esports industry as a whole.
Jalur 14 is a five-part documentary series that has been put together by Astro’s eGG Network and Esports Integrated. It will highlight the untold stories of our very own Dota Legends Mushi and YamateH, as well as newer names in the esports scene like Soloz, Fredo, ChuChu Gaming, and Malaysia’s first esports gold medalist Dr. Yew “wkyew90” Weng Kean.
Beyond the athletes, Jalur 14 will also look back at the 14-year history of the industry locally. This will naturally also involve others who, while not athletes, have also contributed to the local scene. This includes Hasnul Hadi Samsudin, formerly the vice president of the Digital Creative Content Division of MDEC.
Jalur 14 premiers on Thursday, 26 November 2020 at 9PM on the eGG Network. With the first episode airing on the day itself, subsequent episodes will be aired on the following Thursdays.
