Intel has announced that it will be discontinuing the production of its 8th generation Coffee Lake CPU lineup, starting this year. As per its product change notice (PCN), the lineup discontinuation includes the desktop processor lineup, as well as Compute Sticks and NUCs running on the chip.
Also, with Intel recently having launched its 10th generation Comet Lake S CPUs, there’s a very high chance that the company could lower the price on its 9th generation Core series processors.
In any case, Tom’s Hardware was gracious enough to list down the entire 8th generation Coffee Lake lineup, but we’ve listed some of the products below:
- Intel Celeron Processor G4920
- Intel Core i3-8100 Processor
- Intel Core i3-8100B Processor
- Intel Core i3-8100T Processor
- Intel Core i3-8300 Processor
- Intel Core i3-8300T Processor
- Intel Core i3-8350K Processor
- Intel Core i5-8400 Processor
- Intel Core i5-8400T Processor
- Intel Core i5-8500 Processor
- Intel Core i5-8500B Processor
- Intel Core i5-8500T Processor
- Intel Core i5-8600 Processor
- Intel Core i5-8600K Processor
- Intel Core i5-8600T Processor
- Intel Core i7-8700 Processor
- Intel Core i7-8700T Processor
- Intel Core i7-8700B Processor
- Intel Core i7-8700K Processor
The discontinuation was put into effect as of 1 June and that suppliers and OEM customers can place their last orders with the company on 18 December. On a related note, Intel’s decision isn’t all that surprising; retiring a CPU generation is a typical, if not standard practice for the semiconductor maker.
