Given the accidental tweet by the company earlier today, we were kind of afraid that Epic Games or Rockstar Games would make a U-turn regarding the free Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) offer on Epic Games Store (EGS) tonight. Thankfully, Epic did stick to its plan but unfortunately, EGS now facing trouble coping with hordes of gamers trying to get the blockbuster game for no charge at all.
If you been facing problem to get the free GTA V offer from EGS since it went live around an hour ago, you are not definitely alone. In fact, EGS has addressed this issue on its Twitter almost immediately after the offer went live:
We are currently experiencing high traffic on the Epic Games Store.
We are aware that users may be encountering slow loading times, 500 errors, or launcher crashing at this time and we are actively working to scale. We'll provide an update as soon as we can.

As pointed above, there is no telling when exactly EGS will be able to cater to everyone’s request. However, we are lucky once again that one of us still managed to get the game despite the chaos.
