With the COVID-19 pandemic going on, we seem to be getting free games to play every once in a while. It looks like Total War: Shogun 2 will be the next one we are getting. It will be free on Steam in two weeks’ time.
First released all the way back in 2011, Shogun 2 is quite the old game. But if you’re a fan of strategy games, then it should still be up your alley. A direct sequel to the very first Total War game, this entry saw the series return to its roots, with more streamlined and simplified gameplay compared to other entries in the series.
Total War: Warhammer II will also be free, but in a more limited way. It’s a lot newer than Shogun 2 a well, being released in 2017, quite shortly after the first Total War: Warhammer. The game will have a free weekend this week, starting tomorrow, 17 April. It will end in the early hours of 20 April.
As for the game you get to keep, Total War: Shogun 2 will be free starting 28 April, 2020. Claim it between then and 2 May, and it’s yours forever, in your Steam library.
