Several photos and videos have emerged online featuring what seem to be new self-lacing shoes from Nike. Called Adapt LE 01, the new shoes look so much different from previous self-lacing shoes that the company has released into the market.
At a quick glance, the Adapt LE 01 will likely be positioned as lifestyle shoes as opposed to the Adapt BB series which is made for basketball. Design-wise, the top part of the shoes and their lacing reminded me of the original Nike MAG from Back To The Future.
However, the control buttons on the side area of their soles seem similar to Adapt BB series. Interesting enough, Nike has implemented Air Max 90-like cushioning on Adapt LE 01’s sole which is the main reason why I believe that the shoes are meant for the lifestyle segment of the market.
Aside from that, there is also the Auto Max branding on the tongue part of the shoes which is another major indicator that Adapt LE 01 are likely part of the Air Max family. Meanwhile, Nike itself has yet to officially announce the Adapt LE 01 but I will not be surprised if the company choose to unveil them on 26 March which has been self-designated by Nike as the annual Air Max Day.
