Back in January, Sony officially launched the Alpha 6400, its new compact mirrorless camera system fitted with the world’s fastest autofocus system. The good news is that Sony Malaysia has officially brought in the camera into our market.
As mentioned prior, the Alpha 6400 comes with the world’s fastest autofocus system at 0.02 seconds. Along with 425 phase-detection autofocus points. It also features real-time tracking and eye autofocus, giving the camera the ability to detect and hold on to moving subjects.
Beneath the hood, the Alpha 6400 houses a 24.2MP Exmor CMOS APS-C sensor with an ISO sensitivity range of 100 to 32000, but can be expanded up to 102400. Performance-wise, the Alpha 6400 is capable of capturing up to 11 fps in continuous “Hi+” mode, and up to 8 fps in “Hi” mode with minimal display lag. Statistically, that’s about 116 shots in standard JPEG or 46 shots in compressed RAW format in a single, continuous burst.
The camera can also record high-resolution 4K videos, making it a viable choice for the individual seeking out a video-capable camera without the bulk. Further, the addition of a 180° tiltable LCD touch screen makes the Alpha 6400 ideal for capturing self-portraits. As well as high and low-angle shots.
The Sony Alpha 6400 is already available in Malaysia at all official Sony outlets and authorized resellers at a retail price of RM3999. Sony is also selling the Alpha 6400 in two bundle kits. The first kit comes with a 16-50mm Power Zoom lens for RM4399. The second kit comes with an 18-135mm Zoom Lens, and will retail for RM5699.
