Besides the ASUS ROG Phone, the brand also kept its promise with the launch of its new TUF Gaming FX505 gaming notebook. The notebook lineup – which first came into existence during Gamescom 2018 – is the brand’s latest offering to gamers looking for a gaming notebook without breaking the bank.
As mentioned in earlier reports, the FX505 shares similar features and designs as its ROG Strix SCAR II and HERO II brethren. Specs-wise, the bare bones variant of the FX505 comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, an 8th generation Intel Core i7-8300H CPU, 4GB DDR4 RAM, a single 1TB 7200RPM HDD, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB discrete GPU.
Moving up the ladder, consumers who are willing to spend a little will get an FX505 variant that is kitted out with a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate and thin bezels; Intel’s top of the line Core i7-8750H CPU; an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 discrete GPU, up to 8GB DDR4 RAM with clocked at 2666MHz; and a 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD and 1TB 7200RPM HDD combo.
Pricing for the ASUS TUF Gaming FX505 starts from RM3699 for the aforementioned bare bones model with a 60Hz display, while the starting price for the model with the 144Hz display starts from RM4399. For those looking to own fully decked out variant of the FX505, be prepared to pay a maximum price of RM5599.
