Xiaomi has introduced the third installment to its Mi Band fitness band line: the Mi Band 3. Overall, it still has roughly the same silhouette; albeit now with a much larger 0.78-inch display that dominates the front facing of the device.
The bigger 128 x 80 resolution display is intended to provide a better experience while viewing incoming messages, or make it easier to answer calls. Not that the Mi Band 2 has any problems displaying text. But it would seem that the Chinese company thinks people want a bigger display on their fitness band.
A bigger display also demands more power, and the battery has been increased to a 110mAh cell to compensate. According to the announcement, this leaves the Mi Band 3 with up to 20 days worth of battery life.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 comes in three colours and will retail for ¥169. There also appears to be a ¥199 version that comes equipped with NFC for making electronic payments.
