Almost a month after it was unveiled to the world, the new 9.7-inch Apple iPad is finally available in Malaysia. While the new model might look almost identical as per its predecessor, there are several things that able to differentiate them apart.
For example, the 2018 iteration now comes with an updated processor in the form of A10 Fusion chip which is apparently 40 and 50 percent faster in terms of CPU and graphics performance respectively. Not only that, the new model also supports Apple Pencil which previously only able for the higher-end iPad Pro.
Then there’s the difference in terms of pricing as well since the 2018 iPad is slightly cheaper than last year’s model. However, the rest of the device are pretty much the same as per last year’s model as you still looking at 9.7-inch Retina display, 8MP rear camera, 1.2MP FaceTime camera, and battery life of up to 10 hours.
The 2018 9.7-inch iPad is now readily available through Apple Malaysia’s online store starting at RM 1449 for the Wi-Fi version while the 4G version starts at RM 1999. Apple Pencil which need to be purchased separately can be obtained for RM 419.
