Sony Mobile Malaysia has announced the arrival of its CES 2018 smartphones, barely two weeks after their global announcements. The Xperia XA2 Ultra, XA, and L2 will be available from early February, starting from RM999.
The Xperia XA2 Ultra offers a large 6-inch display, and two cameras on the front. One sensor is a 16-megapixel unit with optical image stabilisation, while the other is an 8-megapixel 120-degree wide angle sensor. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and packs a large 3580mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, and a 23MP Exmor RS rear camera.
Meanwhile, the Xperia XA2 is the little brother to the XA2 Ultra. The screen is a 5.2-inch Full HD display. Running the show is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Naturally, the battery is smaller at 3300mAh. Imaging is handled by the same 23MP Exmor RS sensor at the rear, and a single 8MP selfie camera with 120-degree wide angle lens. camera and the front 8-megapixel sensor.
Lastly, the Xperia L2 is the baby of the bunch. It has a quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 5.5-inch 720p display, and a generous 3,300mAh battery. It features the same 8MP wide-angle selfie unit as the XA2 and XA2 Ultra, which is paired with a 13MP unit at the back.
All three models feature a rear fingerprint scanner – a first for Sony Mobile. In addition, there’s also the Battery Care feature that is designed to charge the phones to 90%, then top up the final 10% when your morning alarm will ring in an hour.
Sony Mobile Malaysia will also run a pre-order campaign with 11street for the XA2 Ultra, where all orders will receive a RM200 rebate, a 1+1 year extended warranty, a UCH12W Quick Charger, a transparent case, as well as a Nanos Screen protector. The pre order will run from 20-31 January 2018.
The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra, XA2, and the L2 will be available nationwide from 9 February 2018, and will be priced at RM1999, RM1299, and RM999 respectively. The XA2 Ultra will be available in four colours (Silver, Black, Blue, Gold), while the Xperia XA2 will also come in four colours (Silver, Black, Blue, Pink). The Xperia L2 will come in three colours (Black, Gold, Pink).
