When Samsung officially announced the 2018 Galaxy A8 smartphones, the South Korean company did not reveal their retail prices. Just recently, however, Samsung launched the new Galaxy A8 phones in Vietnam; we now know how much these phones may retail in Malaysia.

Naturally, the smaller Galaxy A8 is more affordable than the Galaxy A8+: the former retails at 10,990,000 Vietnamese dong, which comes up to about RM1,970. The Galaxy A8+, on the other hand, goes for 13,490,000 dong (approximately RM2,415) in the country.

Evidently, the 2018 Galaxy A8 smartphones are on the pricier side of things, especially for mid-range smartphones. However, they are pretty well-equipped smartphones. Both devices feature Exynos 7885 chipsets paired with up to 6GB of RAM, two choices of expandable storage (32GB and 64GB), 16MP + 8MP front-facing cameras, 16MP rear shooters with phase detection autofocus, as well as Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

Of course, one of the standout features of the new Galaxy A8 smartphones are their Infinity Displays. The Galaxy A8 has a 5.6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, while the A8+ is equipped with a larger 6-inch display. Aside from that, the Galaxy A8 and A8+ are packed with 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh batteries respectively.

Although Samsung Malaysia has not revealed the retail prices of the Galaxy A8 (2018) smartphones yet, we reckon they won’t differ too much from Vietnam’s price tags. Regardless, we’ll have to wait until Samsung officially launch the Galaxy A8 phones on our shores next month.
