At Paris Games Week 2017, PlayStation showed off a slew of new trailers for a range of upcoming titles. Out of the many different trailers, here are some which we think are the most noteworthy ones.
Last of Us Part II
This is only the second trailer released for the upcoming sequel to The Last of Us, and it sheds light on several brand new characters. It’s worth noting that the trailer above is an in-game cutscene running on a PlayStation 4 Pro, which looks very impressive. The Last of Us Part II is expected to be released sometime in 2018.
Ghost of Tsushima
The studio behind the Infamous franchise, Sucker Punch, is back with a new title. Set in feudal era Japan, Ghost of Tsushima is an open-world game, and it does look pretty promising. No release date has been revealed yet.
God of War
While we already know God of War is releasing sometime in early 2018, this new trailer shows off a different part of the game and how Kratos can work together with his son – Atreus – in combat.
Monster Hunter World
One of the most anticipated Monster Hunter games to date gets another new trailer, and there’s a surprise for fans of Horizon Zero Dawn: Aloy is a playable character in Monster Hunter World. Of course, this is exclusively available on the PlayStation 4 version of the game, and there’s even a Palico armor based on Horizon Zero Dawn’s Watcher.
Monster Hunter World will arrive on 26 January 2018.
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds
Speaking of which, Horizon Zero Dawn’s new DLC – The Frozen Wilds – gets a new trailer too, and it showcases what players can expect to see in the new expansion. The Frozen Wilds will drop on 7 November next week.
Shadow of the Colossus
Shadow of the Colossus has been remade – and remastered – several times, but this time around, it’s a proper remake for the PlayStation 4, and it looks really, really good. Those who play on the PlayStation 4 Pro will also have a nice perk: the game will run at 60 frames per second. The remake is set to launch on 6 February 2018.
Detroit: Become Human
Quantic Dream’s great storytelling is one of the studio’s main strengths, and the latest trailer for Detroit: Become Human really shows this. Much like previous trailers of the game, there are many ways any particular scenario can play out, and the player’s actions lead up to different conclusions.
Detroit: Become Human will be releasing sometime in 2018.
Marvel’s Spider-Man
Last but not least is Marvel’s Spider-Man. The last trailer revealed that Miles Morales will be a part of the game, but it wasn’t certain just how big of a role he would play in this PlayStation 4 exclusive title. Now, however, we do know he is involved with Peter Parker to some extent.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is set to arrive sometime in 2018.
