HMD Global has announced its new smartphone called Nokia 2 at a launch event in India. As per what we have learned through a recent leak, the new device is generally an entry-level smartphone with a rather huge battery.

Built with 4100mAh battery, the company claimed that Nokia 2 offers up to 2 days of battery life. Aside from that, the new smartphone is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 quad-core processor which runs at a clock speed of 1.3GHz. It also comes standard with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage with support for microSD card of up to 128GB.

Just like its previous devices, HMD Global still retain the usage of aluminum for Nokia 2โ€™s chassis which is rather interesting given its entry-level status. At the same time, the new phone also comes with a 5-inch HD screen that features an LTPS display panel.

HMD Global has also implemented an 8MP camera on Nokia 2โ€™s back together with another 5MP front facing camera. Of course, Nokia 2 is pre-installed with close-to-stock Android Nougat 7.1.1 which can be updated to Android Oreo 8.0 when its ready for the phone.

Scheduled for release throughout the world starting from mid-November, the LTE-enabled and IP52-certified Nokia 2 carries a price tag of EUR 99 (about RM 487). Its availability in Malaysia is not known at the moment.
