OnePlus 5 Retail Box Leaks; Dual-camera System Seemingly Confirmed

Now that the OnePlus 3T has been discontinued, most folks are expecting the OnePlus 5 to be unveiled soon. After all, the company already reopened The Lab to offer 10 users the chance to review the next OnePlus device early. Recently, an alleged retail box of the OnePlus 5 has surfaced on the internet, and it seems to confirm a dual-camera setup.

This new leak comes from Android Authority, which managed to get a hold of a source with an alleged retail packaging of the OnePlus 5. On the side of the box is the tagline “Dual Camera. Clearer Photos,” which certainly suggest a dual-camera system on the upcoming flagship smartphone.

Based on what we’ve learned so far, the OnePlus 5 will very likely feature a capable camera. The comparison image above, for one, showcases the difference in the phone’s camera performance against an unspecified device. On top of that, OnePlus is also working together with DxO for the OnePlus 5’s camera.

Aside from its camera performance, OnePlus recently posted a new teaser of the OnePlus 5 on its Twitter account. Although the image merely shows the OnePlus 3 – or the 3T – the company is implying that the OnePlus 5 is right below the device. If this is true, we can expect the company’s next flagship to be smaller than its predecessor.

The OnePlus 5 is expected to be unveiled sometime this month or in July 2017. Considering the increasing number of leaks and rumours concerning the device, the launch is probably happening sooner rather than later.
