Good news for those of you who travel frequently to countries like Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, China, Thailand and more because Digi is now offering free roaming to these countries. Previously known as RoamBorder, the new “Roam Like Home” comes with 5GB of internet roaming, as well as 60 minutes of roaming voice calls for RM30 a month, however, as a promotion for selected Digi postpaid plans, you can enjoy “Roam Like Home” for free.

Roam Like Home is available in eight countries now including Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. It is free with Digi Postpaid 110. It offers 5GB of data and 60 minutes of free calls a month, but do ensure you are manually connected to Digi’s roaming partners in the respective countries. The roaming partners are as follows:

The 5GB of data is available for use when you are roaming, and the 60 minutes of free calls is available to all local calls made in the country you are visiting, as well as calls back to Malaysia; receiving calls when you are in the participating network is also included into the voice minutes.

Do note that Roam Like Home will take over RoamBorder. Effective from 12am on 16 January 2017, RoamBorder will no longer be effective. Those who are already subscribed to RoamBorder before 16 January 2017 will automatically be switched to Roam Like Home Monthly. Roam Like Home only covers 5GB of roaming data and 60 minutes of calls, other usages like international calls to other countries, voicemail calls and retrieval, and sending and receiving of MMS/SMS are all not included.

The price of Roam Like Home is RM30 a month, however, until December 2017, Digi will be giving out discounts as follows:

  • Digi Postpaid plan RM80 and above – monthly RM30 discount
  • Digi Postpaid plan RM70 to RM80 – monthly RM20 discount
  • Digi Postpaid plan RM70 below – standard price applies
