Good news for Telegram users, the messaging service has just updated its desktop app to version 1.0 with material design, animations, and support for custom themes.
Telegram has been available for desktops since 2013 however, the company is finally graduating it to a stable version – version 1.0. Available for Windows, Mac and Linux, the update brings a “fabulous new design” that is consistent with Google’s Material Design. In addition to that, if you do not like how plain it looks, you can also change the theme.
Telegram Desktop 1.0 New Design
To change the theme, simply type @themes and select Desktop Themes Channel. You can pick from a long list of themes available but if you still can’t find one you like, you can even customise your own. Other things in the update include smoother animations, and support the latest features such as the ability to unsend your recent messages.
Custom Themes on Telegram Desktop v1.0
Telegram says that its Telegram Web and Telegram Mac versions are still available, but they insists that users stick to the latest Telegram Desktop 1.0 to enjoy the latest features. They are essentially the same things, however, the Mac and Web versions do not support themes. Check out Telegram now to download the new Desktop app.
