In addition to the confirmation by U Mobile and Apple, Celcom and Maxis have also stated that the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be made available in Malaysia on 14 October 2016. In addition to that, both telcos have also revealed that they will be taking pre-orders for the new Apple devices soon.
Specifically, the pre-order will start on Friday, 7 October 2016. On that very day, Celcom customers will be able to place their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus pre-orders through Blue Cube’s online store while Maxis customers are also able to do so at the telco’s official website.
Just like Apple itself, neither of these telcos have unveiled their pricing scheme for the new smartphones for the time being. Nevertheless, we believe that it will be within the range of RM 3,199 to RM 4,199 for iPhone 7 and RM 3,799 to RM 4,799 for iPhone 7 Plus based on our past experiences and analysis of launch pricing for both devices throughout the world.
Meanwhile, we have yet to see any signs that DiGi and U Mobile will embark on similar pre-order program for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. We’ll keep you posted if there are any changes made by either telcos.
