At the beginning of this month, all Astro channels including SuperSport HD and SuperSport 2 HD were removed from TM’s HyppTV as both parties have decided not to renew the deal they signed in 2013. Since then, we noticed quite a number of users have been asking who will be replacing the gap left by these two sports channels. Now we finally know the answer: it’s Fox Sports.
Not to be confused with the now defunct Fox Football Channel, Fox Sports on HyppTV are available through four different channels: Fox Sports HD, Fox Sports 2 HD, Fox Sports 3 HD, and Fox Sports News. In general, the addition of these Fox Sports channels brings plenty of additional sporting events across various disciplines for HyppTV including Formula 1, Moto GP, AFC Champions League, IAAF events and many more.
However, Fox Sports don’t offer English Premier League coverage though and even if they do, HyppTV subscribers are likely not able to enjoy it anyway as Astro has retained exclusive rights to EPL until 2018/2019 season. Meanwhile, TM has yet to reveal on how users are able to obtain Fox Sports on their HyppTV since all four channels have not made their way to its Sports Pack listing at the moment.
This is not exactly surprising though since the official launch of Fox Sports for HyppTV will only take place at Penang tomorrow. So, stay tuned for further updates coming your way very soon.
