Plantronics has launched two new earphones, the Plantronics Voyager 5200 and Plantronics BackBeat GO 3. The former is catered to the working professional while the latter is made for those who wants to enjoy their audio in a wireless form factor with a low-profile design.
Plantronics Voyager 5200
The Plantronics Voyager 5200 features the company’s proprietary WindSmart technology, which uses a combination of aerodynamic and algorithms to provide six-layer protection from wind noise. Other than that, the earphones are also packed with noise cancelling features as it comprises of four active digital signal processing (DSP) microphones, a 20-band equaliser, acoustic echo cancellation, as well as sidetone detection.
The Plantronics Voyager 5200 also lets you connect to two smartphones simultaneously, allowing you to take calls from either one. Apart from that, the Voyager 5200 has an IPX4 rating to protect it from sweat and water splashes. Much like the Plantronics Voyager Focus UC headset, the Voyager 5200 also has voice alerts to announce talk-time, mute, connection status, and more.
The Plantronics Voyager 5200 can be updated via the Plantronics Hub app, which is available on both iOS and Android. Plantronics promises seven hours of usage and to charge up the device, there’s a micro USB port where Plantronics promises 90 minutes for a full charge. In addition, there’s also a UC variant of the earphones that comes with a charging case and BT600 bluetooth adapter to provide an extra 14 hours of recharging.
BackBeat GO 3
The Plantronics BackBeat GO 3 is made for those who want a low-profile earphone with high quality audio. These Bluetooth earphones come with three sizes of cushioned eartips as well as stabilisers to make the BackBeat GO 3 fit any user.
It’s also coated with a nano-coating that protects from light rain, humidity, and sweat. The earphones are also packed with inline controls that let you control media playback or even answer calls.
The Plantronics BackBeat GO 3 has up to 6.5 hours of playback, and the portable charging case that comes with it provides a total of 13 hours of recharging. What’s interesting about the portable charging case is that it not only charges the BackBeat GO 3, but it also tells you how much power you have left through an e-ink display.
Pricing And Availability
The Plantronics Voyager 5200 and Plantronics BackBeat GO 3 are now available in Malaysia and will have the same price of RM499.
