Garena has announced Malaysian Legends in EA Sports’ FIFA Online 3 game, which sees the introduction of Dollah Salleh, Serbgeth Singh, and Ong Kim Swee to the game. First announced on 13 August 2012, FIFA Online 3 is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online football game developed by Electronic Arts and Spearhead.
FIFA Online 3 allows players choose and customise their team from a pool of over 30 teams and 15,000 footballers. They can choose to play single-player through a season, or go up against other players online. Playing matches earns them EP, which is the in-game currency used to buy players and items.
Former national team striker Dollah Salleh is joined by Serbgeth “Shebby” Singh and current national team manager Ong Kim Swee. Naturally, Ong is featured in his former position as a defender instead of his contemporary post.
These three players are the first few Malaysian athletes to be featured in an international eSports franchise under the “Legendary” status. FIFA Online 3 players will now get to purchase these legends, form their own dream team, and fully customise them.
Garena mentioned that it took a total of 6 to 8 months to fully transition the players into the game. When asked about the experience of being added into FIFA Online 3, Dollah Salleh said that he hopes the localisation of Malaysians in the franchise would inspire younger generations to enjoy football, on or off the pitch.
The new player avatars will be available for play in-game starting from the 5th of July. To celebrate the occasion, we’re giving away a total of 10 in-game codes:
