Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones are about to be launched in Malaysia tomorrow, where official prices and availability of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will be revealed. Thanks to an image shot by a journalist in the Singapore media launch earlier today, we can now know when the products will hit the local stores.
With confirmation from two different sources, we can safely say that the retail prices of the 32GB versions of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge are RM2,599 and RM3,099 respectively – and these prices will be inclusive of GST. We also learnt that there will be a pre-order process the day after tomorrow’s launch, where a minisite can be reached to place a booking for the two devices. Pre-orders made here will also be entitled to a free wireless charger.

Now, thanks to CNET’s Aloysius Low, we can confirm that the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will be officially available in stores throughout Malaysia from 17 April. We’ve verified this with our source, who has confirmed the date – and provided some additional details. Depending on the amount of pre-orders, there may be stocks readily available in Samsung Experience Stores on 17 April for walk-in customers.
However, Samsung Malaysia Electronics is anticipating a large number of pre-orders from 3 April onwards, which may result in there being no stocks in stores. That being said, there will be Galaxy S6 and S6 edge units on display for walk-in customers to touch and experience, before being able to place a booking of their own in-store.
On the telco front, we’re also told that Malaysian telcos will also be offering its own pre-orders from 3 April, where each telco is already ready to announce attractive postpaid bundles for both devices.
The only things that Samsung Malaysia has not yet revealed are the prices for the 64GB and 128GB variants of the two smartphones, though a good indication would be by referring to Singapore’s retail prices for these devices.
