Uber has just announced new prices for its UberBLACK service. Effective from this midnight onwards, the new price will be RM0.50 per minute and RM1.40 per kilometre, an increase of 15 sen and 25 sen respectively. However, the airport transfer rate will be lowered to RM200 from the previous price of RM270.
The old rates
According to Uber, the new rates are introduced to compensate its Partner Drivers for their hard work and efforts. The base fare of RM3 and minimum fare and cancellation fee of RM5 remains the same, so it’s not all bad.
Although the regular fare sees a price increase, the flat rate for airport transfers has been lowered as much as RM70. Previously priced at RM270, the new flat rate is now RM200. It’s worth noting, however, that this price does not include the cost of tolls.
The old flat rate
These new prices will apply for trips requested after midnight on the 5th of February 2015. If you have a flight to catch tomorrow morning, you can take advantage of the lower flat rate for airport transfers.
