MSI has announced the availability of the GE62 and GE72 gaming laptops in Malaysia. Featuring the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900M series of mobile graphics cards and a fourth generation Intel Core i7 processor, these gaming laptops are quite capable.
The MSI GE62 is a 15.6-inch laptop with two choices of models: GE62 2QE and GE62 2QF. Both models are powered by a fourth generation Core i7-4720HQ processor and features 8GB of RAM with 1TB of 7200RPM HDD. However, the GE62 2QF has a better GTX 970M and a 4K 3840 x 2160 display while the GE62 2QE has a GTX 965M and a full HD 1920 x 1080 display.
The bigger GE72, on the other hand, also features two different models: GE72 2QD and GE72 2QE. Unlike the GE62 though, both models have a 17.3-inch full HD display. Powered by the same fourth generation Core i7-4720HQ processor, they also have 8GB of RAM with a 1TB 7200RPM HDD. Similarities aside, the GE72 2QD has a GTX 960M, while the GE72 2QE has a better GTX 965M and 128GB of SSD storage.
Both the GE62 and GE72 feature an optical disk drive, three USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, a card reader, and a multi-coloured backlit keyboard from SteelSeries. These gaming laptops also boast a dual fan thermal cooling system to keep them cool.
The MSI GE62 retails at RM4,699 while the 4K model is priced at RM5,499. The bigger GE72, on the other hand, retails at RM4,599 for the GTX 960M model while the GTX 965M version costs RM5,099.
