The Gigabyte P35X-V3, the company’s refreshed edition of its P35W series of gaming laptops, is now available in Malaysia. This Ultrabook-thin gaming laptop packs quite an unbelievable amount of power under its hood, including a top-of-the-line NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M GPU.
The third edition of the P35W series from Gigabyte, this laptop weighs a mere 2.2kg and is just 20.9mm thick, but within its matte grey body the company has packed some serious hardware. Besides the GTX 980M GPU, the laptop runs on an Intel Core i7-4710HQ 2.5GHz processor (3.5GHz Turbo Boost) with 8GB of DDR3L RAM. The P35W-V3 also packs a 15.6-inch IPS anti-glare display with a sharp 2880 x 1620 resolution.
The P35W v3 also feature “quad-storage” solution, including a 1TB 7200rpm HDD, 128GB mSATA SSD, and an empty mSATA SSD bay as well as an optical disk drive that is swappable with a 2.5″ HDD bay. Other specifications include an auto-adjust backlit keyboard (which would adjust the keyboard’s brightness according to ambient lights), 802.11ac WiFi, Mini DisplayPort for up to 4K resolution output at 60Hz, and four USB ports (2x USB 3.0). In terms of weight and dimension, the P35X-V3 tips the scale at 2.2kg with a dimension of 385(W) x 270(D) x 20.9(H)mm.
Considering the fact that there’s a GTX 980M within the 20.9mm chassis, questions would likely be raised regarding this laptop’s cooling ability. Gigabyte’s answer for the P35X-V3 is the Supra-Cool technology which incorporates dual-heat pipes and dual-fans for the CPU and GPU.
The Gigabyte P35X-V3 is now available from local retailer TECH Armory at RM7699. From its specs alone, this is looking like a very capable replacement for the older P35W-V2, which was made available in Malaysia about six months ago and retailed at RM5999.
