Charging up your phone’s battery seems to be a trend lately, many smartphone manufacturers already have some sort of quick charging technology on board and HTC does not want to be left out. The Taiwanese company recently posted a new charger called Rapid Charger 2.0 that boasts the ability to charge up selected HTC smartphones up to 40% faster than your regular chargers.
The Rapid Charger 2.0 is listed as “coming soon” on HTC’s website for the U.S.. It uses Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology and is compatible for selected HTC smartphones like the HTC One (M8), HTC One (E8), as well as the newly announced HTC Desire Eye. As for older devices like the HTC One (M7), they can benefit from this new Rapid Charger 2.0 but with slower speeds of course.
Sadly, other information such as the price and availability has not been published. The HTC Rapid Charger 2.0 can only be found on HTC U.S. website – it’s not available in HTC China or even HTC Taiwan’s page.
