Calling all Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4 users who are using the latest developer ROM, today is 29 August 2014 and you know what it means – you can now officially download the MIUI 6 developer version into your beloved device.
The update is available for Xiaomi Mi 3 WCDMA/CDMA version, as well as all versions of the Mi 4. Do note that your device must be running on the latest developer ROM (version 4.8.22) in order to receive the update via OTA or download it on the MIUI forum.
MIUI 6 was officially unveiled about two weeks ago by the Chinese company. Xiaomi labels it as “visually stunning, stunningly simple”, featuring a flatter and cleaner overall design. With flat icons, heavier use of translucency and 3D parallax effect, it is no wonder why people around the world always compare it with iOS. MIUI 6 also features a new card-style multitasking screen, the ability for users to sort their notifications based on importance, an updated Calendar app, and more. If your device is not running on the developer ROM, the final update is scheduled for October, so be patient, and you will be rewarded with the final and stable (hopefully) version of MIUI 6. As for the rest of the Xiaomi devices such as Redmi 1S and Redmi Note, according to Xiaomi’s MIUI 6 rollout roadmap, you will be getting MIUI 6 update by the end of this year.
