The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has released an app in the Google Play Store allowing EPF account holders to check their EPF balance as well as access other useful tools. The app, called “EPF i-Akaun”, was officially launched yesterday, and is available as a free download.
The EPF i-Akaun app was developed in-house by the Fund, and is supported for all smartphones and tablets running on Android 2.2 and above. The app can be used by members of the EPF who have registered for an i-Akaun, which is the Fund’s online portal where members can check their EPF balance, among other features.
The app also packs in an EPF calculator, which allows you to estimate your total EPF contributions from both you and your employer in one year, or even find out how much can you withdraw from your EPF account to pay for a property downpayment or investment funds. Finally, the app also lets you access last year’s statement as well as the latest news from the Fund.
You can download the EPF i-Akaun app from the Google Play Store here. There’s no word on an iOS equivalent, unfortunately.
