First Clear Images of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Appears

The first set of images of what appears to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has appeared online, providing some initial details on what Samsung would be unveiling at its IFA event next month.

It certainly looks like Samsung has begun ramping up production of devices with metal frames. Starting with the Galaxy Alpha, this shift for a more premium look and feel for a company known for its plasticky designs is a rather big thing. The Galaxy Note 4 appears to follow that path, ditching the “metal look” found in the S4, S5 and Galaxy Note 3 in favour of actual metal – the plastic inlay on the metal frame seems to suggest that this is the real deal.

Besides that, the images – which were sent by an anonymous tipster to GSMarena – also indicate a slightly different faux leather back. Thankfully, there’s no fake stitches around the back cover as well. The position of the camera is also similar to that of the not-yet-announced-but-pretty-much-official Galaxy Alpha, with a fingerprint sensor placed above the flash module.

These images appeared just days after the alleged retail box of the Note 4 leaked online. It looks in no way similar to the current set of retail boxes Samsung ships its devices in, which are designed to look like wood. This image of the Note 4 box has a silver-coloured brushed metal design, which could hint at the new material the Galaxy Note 4 would be made from. The box also shows a new wallpaper, which Samsung introduces with every new device, as well as a September 15 date, which could be the actual release date of the latest iteration of the best Android phablet family.

With the official Galaxy Note 4 announcement a mere three weeks away, expect more details to leak out over the coming days.
