With the Micro 4/3s ecosystem growing in popularity as quickly as it has been, bodies are getting more and more technology crammed in while lenses have been relatively tame. Leica (by means of Panasonic) has turned that upside down with the release of their new DG Nocticron 42.5mm f1.2 lens, the fastest lens in the m4/3s ecosystem yet. The Nocticron is also optically stable and covers an effective focal range of 85mm making it a decent portrait lens. While details are still very scarce, the availability is said to be for later this year (vague I know).
Question is, why Nocticron? That sounds like a mix between the f0.95 Noctilux and the f2.0 Summicron. Strange.
Whatever it is, this is a pretty decent lens for the m4/3s system. Next up, a 50mm equivalent maybe?
