Google Nexus are amazing products, they are always shipped with the latest Google Android OS on board and are always the first to get the latest software updates from Google, and while they may not have the greatest specs to fight with other devices out there, they are usually much more affordable than flagship smartphones in the market. We all know that the next Android 4.4 KitKat might be unveiled as early as this month, and it looks like the next Nexus smartphone isn’t too far away either. The Nexus 5 has been brewing in the rumor mill for quite some time now and Android Police recently got their hands on a service manual for the device, revealing all the specs we need to know.
The service manual is 281 pages long but Android Police went through the entire documentation to dig out the juicy bits I’m pretty sure all of you are looking forward to:
- 4.95” 1080p display
- 16/32GB internal storage
- 2GB RAM
- 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset
- 8MP OIS rear camera, 1.3MP front camera
- 2,300mAh battery
- Micro SIM slot
- Wireless charging
- NFC
Of course, like all leaks, do take it with a pinch of salt, even though this seems too detailed to be a fake. In the document, the device is listed to be equipped with Bluetooth 3.0 but Android Police believes that it could have been a typo since Bluetooth 4.0 appears elsewhere in the document; it’s still a draft after all.
Now that almost all the flagship smartphones have already been launched – Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Sony Xperia Z1, Nokia Lumia 1020 and the iPhone 5S / 5C that will hopefully hit our shores soon, will you wait for the Nexus 5 instead?
