Just few weeks shy of its one year anniversary, Bioware and LucasArts have announced that gamers can now enjoy the Star Wars: The Old Republic for no cost via the Free-To-Play option. That’s right; gamers can now to play the MMO up to its ceiling levelling point of level 50 without the need to pay for the game’s usual monthly fee which starts from RM 47 (USD 14.99) onwards.
The new option is not exactly a surprise though, following the revelation earlier this year that the game’s totally amount of players have significantly dipped to under 1 million players – a significant drop as compared to its launch crowd of 1.7 million players in December 2011. Whether the move to have the Free-To-Play option will actually boost up the amount of players in the game or not…well, only time could tell.
Meanwhile, head on to www.swtor.com/free or fire up your EA‘s Origin client if you are interested to check out the game and do check out this list to learn all the restrictions that come with the game’s Free-To-Play option.
