Good news to all Maxis mobile users who are subscribed to an internet plan of 1GB and above, it looks like unlimited mobile internet has finally found its way to the telco, allowing you to browse without worrying again. According to an SMS sent to a subscriber, the change is effective from 3/12/2012 and all users who exceed the quota will only have their speed throttled instead of being charged at 30sen/MB.
“Great news for mobile internet users on 1GB & above plans. Effective 3/1212, upon exceeding your plan quota, you may continue browsing at a reduced speed for FREE as we have removed the RM0.30/MB charges. However, to enjoy browsing at a regular speed, we recommend you purchase a quota upgrade…”
The above message is only applicable for 1GB data plans and above so if you have a smaller internet plan, you will still be charged at 30sen/MB. Happy browsing!
