The Malaysian government has consolidated several key government services under the MyGOV app. This allows users to access things such as driving licences, road tax, JPJ summons checks, passports, government clinic appointments, and Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) from a single platform.
Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the app is intended to make accessing government services a “simpler and smoother” experience. By bringing these services together, users no longer need to look for them across different platforms and locations, making it somewhat similar to Selangor’s Nine app, albeit with a different range of services.
The app also allows users to check for unclaimed money. Additionally, MyGOV still features an AI Chat function that can provide information and answers about government services.
However, users must first log in before they can access a few features, particularly the AI Chat feature. The login process is relatively straightforward, particularly for those who already have the MyDigital ID app set up on their phones, and takes only a few seconds.
Fahmi also said that more services will be integrated into the MyGOV app in phases. Those interested can download the app from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
