Not too long after its launch in Japan last year, Honda Malaysia teased that the new Prelude will be making its way to our shores. It’s been a few months since, and now the company announced that it is now taking orders for the hybrid coupe. The company also says that it will be launching the new Prelude sometime within the second quarter of the year.
In the meantime, Honda Malaysia also has its Hybrid Done Right campaign, running until 30 June, showcasing its e:HEV system. Part of this campaign is giving potential customers a preview of the upcoming Prelude. This is scheduled to happen during may at select dealerships in the country in May, there are four time blocks, lasting a scant two days each. Here’s the schedule, as provided by the company:

If you need a refresher, the new Honda Prelude is a 2+2 hybrid coupe featuring a 2.0L Atkinson cycle direct injection engine and two motors, one of which is driven by the engine. All together, they have a combined output of 203 PS / 149 kW. It will also be the first Honda car in Malaysia to feature the S+ Shift tech, which simulates the experience of driving with an eight-speed transmission. Adding to this is the Active Sound Control which will help emulate the sounds of the simulation. Then on the opposite end of things, it also features Coasting Control to emulate, well, coasting.

Inside, the Honda Prelude has a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch infotainment display. Supplementing this is an 8-speaker Bose sound system. Safety features involve the Honda Sensing suite, which includes things like Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Rear Collision Mitigation Throttle Control, Low Speed Brake Function, Cross Traffic Monitor, Parking Sensor System, and Unintended Acceleration Mitigation.
