Razer revived its Pro series of productivity-focused peripherals last year with the Pro Click V2 mice. The series has one mouse with the standard form factor, and another vertical version. Now, the brand has made a keyboard to go with these two. But like the vertical Pro Click, the keyboard doesn’t come in the standard form factor. Instead, it’s a split ergonomic keyboard, fittingly called the Razer Pro Type Ergo.
There’s a 10-degree slope leading up to the split keyboard, and as a result, the spacebar has also been split into three segments. There’s also two B keys here, so if you have a preference of which hand you use to input the key, you’re covered either way. Adding to the ergonomics are the low-profile keys that also dip in a little. Though because it’s a full-sized keyboard, the right side is a little longer as it trails out into the number pad.

Despite being a work keyboard, it still comes with the Chroma RGB lighting, so there’s some mixed messaging going on. Compounding the issue is the row of five macro keys on the left. Y’know, the kind that you usually find on a BlackWidow, for instance. Less confusing are the three shortcut buttons above the number pad, two dials on both top corners, and a built-in faux leather wrist rest.
Unfortunately, Razer had to give the Pro Type Ergo an Achilles’ heel. For all its plus points, it turns out that this is a scissor-switch membrane keyboard. And I’m not sure that there are typists who would trade their blue mechanical switches for a membrane scissor switch.

At any rate, Razer has priced the Pro Type Ergo at RM829. If membrane and scissor switches are not a deal-breaker, you can get it via the brand’s official online store.
