Last month, the Xiaomi 17 and its Pro siblings debuted in China, succeeding the Xiaomi 15 series. Of course, the fanciest variant has yet to make its official appearance, but the rumour mill has been churning out details in the meantime. A recent leak claims that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature the largest main camera sensor on a smartphone.
This leak originates from a post by Digital Chat Station, who also detailed some of the phone’s other specifications. According to the leakster, the device will feature a large circular camera module to accommodate the bigger lens. This will likely mean that the premium flagship smartphone will not adopt the rear display found on the Pro and Pro Max models, instead retaining the familiar look from its predecessor.
While the leakster did not offer any other specifics on the phone’s primary camera, they did mention in a previous post that this shooter will use a 50MP lens with improved in-sensor zoom capabilities. Aside from that, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will reportedly feature a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto camera.
Rounding things off is a 200MP periscope lens which supports multiple focal lengths. Additionally, the leakster stated that the phone will feature an “exclusive new telephoto technology”, plus an external lens solution. The latter will supposedly outperform the offerings currently on the market.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is tipped to share many of its specifications with the Pro Max model. This includes the display, chipset, speakers, vibration motor, and fingerprint sensor. So, the device could sport a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED 120Hz screen. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 should be on board as well. Finally, the leakster highlighted a “prestigious gold” colour option for the phone.

Of course, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. Xiaomi has yet to disclose details on the upcoming handset, including the launch date. The company may launch the device sometime in early 2026. Based on Xiaomi’s track record, the phone will probably make its way here as well.
