GAC Malaysia showcased the M8 PHEV a couple of months ago as part of its roadshow. The prices of the electric SUV were not revealed then, but the company has decided to do so today. With that, the Premium model has been given a price tag of RM328,800, while the Luxury variant costs RM388,800 instead. Worth mentioning that these are Peninsular Malaysia prices, with East Malaysia buyers having to pay an additional RM3,000.
Alongside the prices, GAC Malaysia also says that it is throwing in bonuses for early bookings. More specifically, “customers who place bookings before 31 December 2025 will enjoy two eyars of complimentary scheduled maintenance and receive a portable charging cable, offering a combined value of RM3,800”.
Both variants of the GAC M8 PHEV are now available, with two more roadshows for the car also coming up. The first is in the Centre Court of Mid Valley SouthKey, Johor, from 5 to 9 November. Following that is a return to One Utama for the Malaysia Car of the Year Showcase. This is happening from 12 to 16 November.
In case you missed it, the GAC M8 PHEV has a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHC). These add together for a 372 PS and 630 Nm output, and a 8.8-second century sprint time. Similarly, the 25.57 kWh battery and the 56-litre fuel tank fives it a 1,038km driving range.
Inside the GAC M8 PHEV are seven seats, with the driver getting a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch infotainment display. The cabin gets its own 15.6-inch roof-mounted display, plus a 16-speaker Yamaha audio system. Also, The company adds that the vehicle gets 18-inch alloy wheels with self-levelling wheel caps.
