Krafton, the video game publisher responsible for the once popular Battle Royale, Player Unknown’s Battleground, known more commonly as PUBG, announced earlier this week that it is transforming into an “AI-first” company.
The announcement was made via the company’s Korean site, which says (Google translated) that the change will refocus and reorganise itself, with AI at the forefront of its new vision. “Starting today, Krafton will automate work centred on Agentic AI and fully implement an AI-centred management system where members focus on creative activities and complex problem solving,” and “We will leap forward as a company that promotes the growth of members and expands the organisation’s areas of challenge through AI.”

Krafton plans to invest approximately KRW100 billion (~RM294 million) to build a GPU cluster. “This infrastructure will support multi-stage tasks requiring sophisticated reasoning and iterative planning, and will serve as the foundation for accelerating the implementation of agentic AI. Through this infrastructure, Krafton will pursue AI workflow automation, as well as strengthen AI R&D and in-game AI services.”
Krafton also says that, in order to internalise its AI First strategy, it will also be restructuring the company’s organisational operations, among other thins. That means new systems, programs, and the establishment of new cultures and workflows.
