Late last month, Hisense announced its 116-inch RGB MiniLED TV, costing a whopping RM99,999. So perhaps it’s not particularly surprising that Toshiba Visual Solutions, a subsidiary since 2017, has announced its own. Though it’s not going on sale just yet. In fact, it’s still in development.
With that in mind, the company has not revealed when the massive TV will actually be available in the market. But when it does, it will naturally be part of the Toshiba REGZA line, featuring all of its associated tech. Part of this is due to the inherent nature of RGB MiniLED which, as the name suggests, used RGBs instead of just blue or white for better colour accuracy.

This includes what the company calls the REGZA Engine ZRa, an image processing engine “powered by deep neural networkd (DNN) AI”. This allows the TV to analyse video content in real time to “maximise colour performance”.
While the 116-inch model is still in production, Toshiba says that most of the tech found in the model can already be found in the recently launched Z770R range. Said range caps out at 85 inches and a price of RM12,999, both of which are far cries to 116 inches and what it would presumably cost based on the parent company’s own release.
