As previously reported, vivo officially launched its mixed-reality headset yesterday. Officially dubbed the Vision Explorer Edition, it is the first MR (Mixed Reality) headset from the company and is likely to be a China-exclusive product for now.
Apart from the design that is reminiscent of Apple’s own Apple Vision Pro, Vivo has previously stated that the headset is comparable in weight to the Apple AirPods Max. The headset weighs 398g, only a few grams heavier compared to the aforementioned audio equipment, 83mm in height and is 40mm thick.
The Vision Explore allows users to switch between four light-blocking shields that have foam padding. The device also comes with two different straps, a one-piece for comfort and a two-piece strap for stability.

Inside, vivo’s MR headset features two 8K Micro-OLED binocular screens with 3840 x 3552 px resolution each. The display can cover 94% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and offer a 180 degree view with spatial audio support, according to GSMArena. Furthermore, it also has a 120-inch screen and can be easily navigated with hand gestures and eye tracking. Additionally, the headset itself can accommodate dioptres using magnetic lenses.
Powering all of this is a Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 SoC that runs on OriginOS Vision. Additionally, it includes Vivo’s Blue Ocean power management system, which is supposed to prolong battery life. The device is capable of supporting full-colour passthrough with 13ms latency, spatial video playback, and MR/PCVR gaming titles.

vivo has not given an official price or availability of the headset at the time of writing and it is unsure when those details will officially be announced. Vision Explorer Edition is, however, available to be used at only 12 vivo experience zones in China starting today.
