Insta360’s unannounced next-gen Go series camera has leaked online, courtesy of WinFuture’s Roland Quandt. Allegedly known as the Go Ultra, the device sports a new form factor, ditching its predecessor’s pill-shaped design. Of course, it is suggested to come with significant hardware upgrades as well.
Based on what’s shown, the Insta360 Go Ultra features a square-shaped detachable camera that measures 30mm on each side. Like its predecessor, this unit can be attached to a main body that lets it function like a traditional action camera, as well as for charging. Also visible on the dock is a record button, flip-up LCD display, and a USB-C port.

According to Quandt, the supposedly upcoming device is equipped with a new 1/1.28-inch sensor that allows for 4K/60fps video capabilities, which is twice the framerate offered by last year’s Insta360 Go 3S. Other possible features mentioned include image stabilisation, horizon lock, and an Active HDR mode. The latter, the leak notes, is compatible with up to 4K/30fps recordings only.
Meanwhile, additional images show that the Insta360 Go Ultra will come with accessories similar to its predecessor. These include magnetic clip and necklace mounts, as well as a safety strap that connects the camera to the necklace to prevent accidental drops or loss.

Unfortunately, other details such as battery capacity, storage options, pricing, and availability are not known at this time. Given that the leaked images obtained by WinFuture appears to be official, there’s a chance that an announcement or launch would happen soon.
